Getting Ready for the Final Exam (Things to Know):
Here is our practice question: “If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance.” --George Bernard Shaw
With reference to at least TWO of the three literary texts studied this year, discuss the extent to which this philosophy can relate to a main character in each work.
Tips:
- The exam is 1.5 hours in length
- You cannot bring any materials or aids to help you (no notes, not open book)
- You must write in blue or black pen on the provided paper. Bring spares.
- Bring any course books that you owe with you to the exam
- Each 4UI teacher has contributed an exam question
- You may choose to answer any one of them

Tips:
- Try to understand the topic within the question and create a thesis around this
- Your thesis should be provable and worth proving (ie. not too obvious).
- Spend the beginning of the exam coming up with a blueprint or outline for your essay to help you stay focused when you are writing. I am looking for at least 6 examples (paraphrased).
- You can find sample outlines below as well as the rubric:

The rest of our classes together will be self-directed study. Please avail yourself of the opportunity to receive feedback from me. I strongly recommend that you use the class time to practice an exam question using the practice question.
